Last night I hosted a bridal shower for Bella Swan to celebrate the upcoming release of Breaking Dawn (only 2 more days!!!!). A lot of my friends read the Twilight Series so I thought it would be a fun way to get together and gossip about the books and who is better, Jacob or Edward. We had a lot of yummy food. I made special cupcakes monogramed with an E and B. We also had fruit, cheese, little slices of pizza, poptarts (Bella loves poptarts), cheesecake squares, assorted dips, cookies, and strawberry shortcake. I made a poster with all the quotes from Breaking Dawn (a quote a day has been released on www.stepheniemeyer.com). I also put the cover art of Breaking Dawn and a picture of Bella's engagement ring (found on www.twilightteez.com) After we ate and speculated over the quotes we played a game. I made up a Twilight Series trivia quiz. First I divided the guests into 2 groups fans and fanatics. I gave the fanatics an open answer quiz and the fans a multiple choice. Of course the fanatics won all three prizes even with the harder quiz. First prize won a gift card to Barnes and Noble so they can go get Breaking Dawn. Second place won a gift card to Cold Stone (think Edward) and a keychain with a "diamond" heart and a wooden heart. Third place got a pack of Dentyne Ice gum and a pack of Dentyne Fire gum with a pair of plastic fangs. When I presented it I said this is what it would be like to kiss Edward and Jacob. After the game with had the gift exchange. All the guest brought a gift that related to the books. We played white elephant style so everyone got to pick a gift from the middle or steal someone elses. Everyone brought great gifts. Some of them were a first aid kit, rain poncho & umbrella & forks, a piano concert cd, Wutherheights book, strawberry shampoo, a platter with Edward and Bella on it, Bella's bracelet, a magic eight ball with Ask Alice written on it, a electronic baseball game, tanning lotion & chocolate, a photo album with cut outs of cute guys (the edwards & jacobs), a mixed cd with the Twilight playlist (again from stepheniemeyer.com) and some personal items like a toothbrush for all of Bella's human moments. It was a great time and everyone was really creative. Now I just have to wait a couple of more days to see how it all ends.

Haircut
Tuesday, July 8, 2008
O.K. I couldn't do it. I just can't grow my hair out long. No matter how many times I try by the time it gets to my chin it starts to drive me crazy. So I chopped it all off again. I love it short! It is so fun and I just feel and look so much better with short crazy hair.
Pool Time
I finally took the kids to the "big" pool today. Ellie has been begging to go since before summer even started. We had a lot of fun. I put Max in the daycare there b/c I didn't think I could manage all three of them in the water. Ellie even went down the big waterslide with one of the YW that babysits for me.

New Camera
On the 4th of July I was trying to take pictures of the kids doing fireworks when I dropped the camera. It totally broke the lens. I was a disappointed b/c there were still pics I wanted to take of the holiday and there was no fixing the camera. But the next day we went to Costco to check out the cameras there and ended up getting a sweet deal on a new super small camera. I didn't realize my 3.2 megapixel giant camera was so outdated. I upgraded to a 8.1 megapixel Casio Exilim green camera. So far I love it. Here is my new vs my old broken taken apart so ryan can see how it works camera.
4th of July
We started the 4th by watching the annual Pet Parade. Basically anyone and everyone parades their pets through the streets of downtown. Most the pets and people are decorated. A lot of kids ride their bikes or are in wagons and showcase their stuffed animals. It is really quite a site. This year there were even cows in the parade! Then we walked down to the park for the Old Fashioned 4th of July. They have games, food, music. Ellie participated in a potato sack race. She made if half way down the lane before she needed help. I was proud of her for trying. I think the prize (a popsicle) at the end for all the kids was her only motivator. Afterwards we headed home for a little rest before going to our friends for a BBQ. We ate and did some fireworks in the street before heading home to put Max in bed. Ellie and Caden wanted to stay up for the big fireworks display so we roasted marshmallows on the BBQ and had smores. Then we layed on the trampoline until they started. Caden was sooo tired. He was begging to go inside within minutes after they started. Luckily I could still see them from our window. It will be fun when the kids are older and we can go and watch them up close.

Bridal Shower for Bella
Tuesday, July 1, 2008
In anticipation of the upcoming release of Breaking Dawn I have decided to throw Bella Swan a bridal shower. The plan is to have everyone bring a shower gift (something that relates to the books) and then we will do a gift exchange. I will also have a couple of games and prizes and of course yummy food. Afterward, we will head on over to BN for the Midnight Release Party. I stopped by BN today to make sure they were having one but they don't have any details yet. It will be fun! Everyone is invited! Mark your calendars!
